Hitting Out Of Deep Rough
Many courses, especially the newer designs, feature long fescue bordering
fairways. Bob Beauchemin, Canadian Tour member and Director of Instruction
at Oakwood Golf Club in Toronto, presents a simple method of untangling your
ball from nasty grass.

When swinging through long grass the clubhead is likely going to shut down as the long grass wraps around the hosel (twist to the left for a right-handed golfer).
Grip the club firmly with the last three fingers of your top hand.
Play the ball back in your stance.
Swing up more abruptly to steepen your angle of approach - cock your wrist early.
Use a chopping motion down and through the ball.
