Walailak Satarak of Thailand shot a final round one under par 71 to win the $50,000 CN Canadian Women's Tour Championship at Club de Golf Royal Quebec in Boischatel, Québec.

Satarak put on a late charge to catch the second round leader Christine Boucher of Rouyn-Noranda, Quebec and then with birdies on the 17th and 18th holes captured the title.

With the win, Satarak takes home $8,333 and an automatic exemption into the 2008 CN Canadian Women’s Open next August 11-17 at the Ottawa Hunt and Golf Club.

Boucher finished a stroke back at 6-over alone in second.

Marie-Josee Rouleau of St-Lambert, Que. shot even-par 72 to share third with Russamee Gulyanamitta of Thailand at 7-over. With the finish, Rouleau was named the event’s top club/teaching professional.

Recent Canadian Golf Hall of Fame inductee Mary Ann Lapointe of Georgetown, Ontario finished alone in fifth at 8-over and was the low amateur award for the event while Lisa Meldrum of Kirkland, Quebec, Cindy Pasechnik of Calgary, Corina Kelepouris of Drayton Valley, Alberta and Samantha Richdale, Kelowna, B.C. tied for sixth.

Satarak also won the 2007 CN Canadian Women’s Tour Order of Merit winner and thereby the Jocelyne Bourassa Player of the Year Award. With the title came an additional $3,000 Order of Merit prize.
