Alison Murdoch of Victoria, BC shot a final-round 4-over 75 Thursday to win the Royale National Senior Women's Championship, conducted by the RCGA at Waskesiu Lake, Saskachewan.

For Murdoch, it was her fourth Ada Mackenzie Trophy and ties the record for most Canadian senior women's victories to join Canadian Golf Hall of Famers Gayle Borthwick of Mississauga, Ontario and Marlene Stewart Streit of Unionville, Ontario as the only 4-time winners of Canada's senior amateur title.

Murdoch finished one stroke up on Linda Palahniuk of Kelowna, BC at 13 over par.

A day earlier, Murdoch also helped British Columbia win the province's 12th Women's Senior Inter-provincial team title and fifth in the past six years.

The victory also earns Murdoch a berth in the USGA Senior Women's Amateur Championship, September 1-6 at Sunriver Resort in Sunriver, Oregon.

Cheryll Damphouse of Amherstburg, Ontario finished alone in third at 18-over while defending champion Ginny Burkey of Fircrest, Wash. was fourth at 21 over.

In the Super-Senior division (60 and over), Pamela Williamson of Edinburgh, Scotland outlasted Diane Williams of Calgary in a playoff to take home the inaugural super-senior title on the second playoff hole. Williamson finished with a final-round 78 and tournament-total 25-over 238. Williams fired an impressive final-round 77 to finish at 25-over. Cathy McMillan of Ponoka, Alberta finished alone in third at 29-over for the tournament while Sharon Peart of Red Deer County, Alberta was fourth at 35-over.
